Yoko Heukels, CMP
Yoko is the founder of Meeting Element. Her passion for Hospitality Industry finds its roots in her early childhood in Japan where she used to spend every summer at her grandmother's Umino-ie ("Ocean House") on the beach and building the bond with customers who returned year after year.
By combining her passion for travel and hospitality industry with her 18 years of luxury hotel sales experience, Yoko enjoys providing the right tool/resources to her meeting professional clients.
Prior to creating Meeting Element, Yoko has worked at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, Ritz Carlton Resorts of Naples, Willard InterContinental Washington and most recently at the Prestige Resorts & Destinations where she served as Senior Vice President.
Yoko is a graduate of School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University and a
certified Meeting Professional (CMP) since 2006. During COVID pandemic, Yoko received additional certifications in Virtual Meeting and Event Management as well as Pandemic Meeting and Event Design. She is a past board member of Potomac Chapter of Meeting Professional International (MPI) as well as Capital Chapter of Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA).
